Fieldnotes from Maker
Fieldnotes from Maker is a collaborative project between Neasden Control Centre and 51 Studio, combining storytelling, experimental design, and site-responsive artwork. Presented as an exhibition at The Garrison Gallery on Maker Heights in Cornwall, the work explores local myth, memory, and atmosphere through a collection of bold, narrative-driven prints.

Rooted in the unique landscape of Maker, the project draws on fragments of invented folklore—short texts that hint at rituals, disappearances, strange weather, and unseen forces. These stories are brought to life through abstract visual forms, expressive colour, and experimental typography, all held within a stripped-back poster grid.
Rather than explaining place, Fieldnotes from Maker evokes it—inviting viewers into a world that feels remembered more than invented. It sits somewhere between fiction and fieldwork, treating design as a medium for storytelling, mood and myth-making.
